Cracker Barrel Returns Duck Dynasty Products to Their Shelves

In a major turnabout of events, Cracker Barrel has admitted they made a mistake in their decision to remove certain Duck Dynasty merchandise (hint: anything to do with Phil Robertson) from their shelves in response to Phil Robertson’s comments in the latest issue of GQ.

Robertson had stated his religious belief that homosexuality is a sin. A&E, the network where Duck Dynasty can be seen, responded by suspending Mr. Robertson from the show. Cracker Barrel followed their lead and removed some Duck Dynasty merchandise in order to avoid offending some customers.

Cracker Barrel’s actions caused an immediate reaction from the other group of customers: the one’s offended by Cracker Barrel, and also helped spawn this website.

Today Cracker Barrel switched direction and claims they are returning previously removed Duck Dynasty merchandise to its stores.

On its Facebook page Cracker Barrel released the following statement:

Dear Cracker Barrel Customer:

When we made the decision to remove and evaluate certain Duck Dynasty items, we offended many of our loyal customers. Our intent was to avoid offending, but that’s just what we’ve done.

You told us we made a mistake. And, you weren’t shy about it. You wrote, you called and you took to social media to express your thoughts and feelings. You flat out told us we were wrong.

We listened.

Today, we are putting all our Duck Dynasty products back in our stores.

And, we apologize for offending you.

We respect all individuals right to express their beliefs. We certainly did not mean to have anyone think different.

We sincerely hope you will continue to be part of our Cracker Barrel family. (Source)

We applaud Cracker Barrel for responding so quickly to correct their mistake. We will continue to monitor the situation. If their 180 degree turn appears real we will call off our Boycott.

Cracker Barrel pulls ‘Duck Dynasty’ merchandise

By now you are all aware of the controversy surrounding Phil Robertson, the patriarch of the Duck Dynasty clan and comments he made that were published in GQ magazine.

Mr. Robertson has been suspended by A&E for expressing his Christian beliefs and it looks like Cracker Barrel may no longer carry certain Duck Dynasty merchandise in their restaurant/stores.

Cracker Barrel released the following statement:

“Cracker Barrel’s mission is Pleasing People. We operate within the ideals of fairness, mutual respect and equal treatment of all people. These ideals are the core of our corporate culture. We continue to offer Duck Commander products in our stores. We removed selected products which we were concerned might offend some of our guests while we evaluate the situation. We continually evaluate the products we offer and will continue to do so.”

While Cracker Barrel does not want to offend certain customers it seems they don’t mind offending a large portion of the Christian community. As such appears to be the case, many of us have decided to spend our money where our existence does not offend the business. In the meantime, we won’t be spending our money at Cracker Barrel, at least while we evaluate the situation.

This website is not anti-homosexual. We believe that in a free society individuals should have the right to express their views without being oppressed, castigated or demeaned for their views, We believe that Christians have been experiencing discrimination for the last several decades.

This website is open to all, even those who disagree.

We are not associated with Phil Robertson, Duck Dynasty, Cracker Barrel or any other organization.

We hope that Cracker Barrel will come to their senses and stop this economic attack against Duck Dynasty, Phil Robertson and Christian views. Until this happens we will no longer eat in their restaurants.

We welcome your views. Please join and state your opinions.
